Furniture and accessories created by Emily Readett-Bayley, handcrafted from salvaged tropical hard woods , driftwood, bamboo, sago palm, mother of pearl shell and feathers.
The salvaged wood furniture is made primarily from deconstruction teak from disused bridges and buildings in Java. It is a rapidly diminishing resource and the price of recycled teak is increasing every year.
Some of the teak is hundreds of years old and it is the most durable wood for outdoor use and will even resist salt water so will last by the sea. It weathers to a beautiful silver grey.
